HOLISTIC PREGNANCY

A Pregnant Pause

Pre and PostNatal support and Services

A newborn’s arrival is a time of great joy, however it is also a time of change and adjustments as new parents (and any siblings) navigate their way through a period of adjustment and transition. For the mother, this transition entails both physical and emotional adjustments.

The fourth trimester (the first three months after a mother has given birth and a baby has been born) is not only an adaptation to new parenthood, it’s also a time when babies are making their own transitions to life outside the womb. Evidence strongly suggests that social support has significant positive attributes at this crucial time. It offers new parents emotional, physical and practical help which will hopefully allow a smoother transition period.
Our mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where new mothers (and parents) can come along and talk about their challenges and also their achievements in a gentle and nurturing, non-judgmental space.

Our aim is to reduce the baby-blues (postnatal depression) and also for mothers to strengthen their physical body with some postnatal care tips and exercises; to give guidance on baby’s progress with professional expertise and to give parents the opportunity to relax their mind and meet new parents and make new friends!

Lactation Support Consultations

Breastfeeding is a beautiful bonding moment with your baby, but it can also be an emotional roller coaster ride. As a lactation specialist I am passionate about making you feel as comfortable as possible while you breastfeed. Comfortable means physically comfortable as well as mentally comfortable. If we are feeling stressed and uncomfortable then it will directly impact our breastfeeding journey, often making it a very painful experience. Many mothers have big hopes for breastfeeding but once they are faced with the challenges they often give up because they do not ask for support or sometimes the support is not available. With the right position, latching techniques, and mindset breastfeeding can be a beautiful moment to bond with your baby. I am here to support you through this session with any concerns that you may have regarding pain you may be experiencing during breastfeeding, answering your questions whether baby is getting enough milk or just listening to any emotions that you may be going through, I‘m here for you!

Individual sessions of 1 hour each.

When you become the expert of your own birth you have the knowledge and power to ask questions to your healthcare provider when something comes up and you can allow them to support you if any medical interventions need to take place - always keeping you and your partner in the center of your birth decisions.

Holistic Hypnobirthing Course

The Hypnobirthing technique is a holistic birth preparation approach combining education, breathing, affirmations, visualizations and fear release techniques. These techniques will allow you to dive deep in your subconscious and tap into your innate birthing power. This course teaches you to rediscover your instincts and to bring your baby into the world with joy, comfort and peace which will leave you satisfied with your birth experience. Upon completion of this course, both your body and mind will be ready for birth, and you will be equipped with different relaxation and comfort techniques to make your birth as comfortable as possible.

The course provides you with all the childbirth class information that you need to prepare for birth, leaving you feeling confident and empowered. The classes are evidence-based and empower you to make informed decisions during your pregnancy, labour and birth.

When should I start?

The earlier in your pregnancy you start to train your mind and body to relax on a very deep level, the earlier your body will send signals to start releasing all the natural hormones that will support you during birth and make it a comfortable experience.

Hypnobirthing can be personalised to cater for: first time parents, those who are pregnant for the second time and feel they want to have a different experience, those who have had traumatic first births and want to re-establish their trust in their bodies, and also those who are scheduled for a caesarean section and want to prepare their mind and body for the birth.

This is a complete birth preparation course, there is no need to take any other prenatal classes if you choose this course.

Course length: 10-hour course divided into sessions of 2 hours each. (This can be adapted according to your schedule!)

This course is for individuals who have already taken a prenatal course but would like to add all the hypnobirthing tools as a plus.
