Kids Dance: Rhythm & Movement

Here at Pause, we embrace children’s ability to express themselves and live joyously with a natural connection to rhythm and movement by nurturing and guiding this ability from a young age. Lucy’s classes offer a progression through the ages and stages from toddling through to pre-adolescent dance. In the beginning, little ones are encouraged to hone into their natural ability to express rhythm and movement and as we progress choreography is introduced. Starting with this foundation of body awareness is key for developing a healthy body and motor skills, an expressive mind and it is also lots of FUN.

27 August - 18 December 2024 (Autumn Term)

Mornings:

1. Tuesday 09:45 - 10:45 ~ Baby Boogie (accompanied 1 - 2 yrs) This includes dance + music, sensory play, story time and is a wonderful way to meet other mummies/aunties.

2. Tuesday 10:45 - 11:45 ~ Tippy-toe Toddlers (2 - 3.5 yrs - accompanied at first, if needed) Explore music and movement with lots of laughter!

Afternoons:

3. Wednesday 14:45 - 15:45 ~ Baby Boogie (accompanied 1 - 2 yrs)

4. Wednesday 16:00 - 17:00 ~ Tippy-toe Toddlers (2 - 3.5 yrs - accompanied at first, if needed)

5. Wednesday 17:00 - 18:00 ~ Dinky Dancers (3.5 - 5 yrs) Learn lots of coordination, movement, expression, dance basics and the joy of music.

6. Wednesday 18:00 - 19:00 ~ Funky Dance (5 - 9 yrs) This class is a collaboration of ballet, jazz, and tap focusing on body alignment, strength and flexibility with neat, precise footwork and strong arm movements.

Kids Yoga

Children have a natural ability to live joyously in the present moment, which can be maintained through positive nurturing and guidance. By focusing their energy, children acquire helpful tools to regulate themselves. They can learn how to develop a sense of calm through breathwork, gain strength and flexibility in their bodies through asana poses and awareness of themselves and the world around them through meditation. Jill’s classes integrate storytelling, games, music, the arts and much more into a curriculum that engages the whole child. The focus is to have FUN with yoga: let the children explore their true potential in a positive, creative environment.

Our kids yoga classes run regularly throughout the school term and holidays, and times are tailored around school and kindergarten schedules.
