Alli Sullivan
Perinatal Mental Health Supporter
Breastfeeding coach and counsellor
Fourth trimester educator
Alli is a former UK trained Nurse and Midwife with a combined career spanning 35 years. Alli has twenty years of practical midwifery experience working in both hospital and community settings. She also worked as a Perinatal Mental Health Midwife which she found very rewarding.
Prior to moving to Hong Kong Alli lived in India where she worked in a small company as a volunteer Midwife. A major accomplishment of the team was to facilitate a Waterbirth Unit in Mumbai. Alli also volunteered for an NGO charity and was responsible for writing and facilitating a Pregnancy Programme for them.
Moving forward, Alli wanted to deepen her knowledge of Perinatal Mental Health and she has spent the last few years studying to gain a robust knowledge in her area of interest.
Combining her twenty years of practical Midwifery experience and study, she created workshops with a particular focus on supporting the emotional and mental health aspects of pregnancy; transitioning to parenthood; and the Fourth trimester which will help prepare new mothers, fathers and families for their journey.
All her training is up to date and evidence based, some requiring regular supervision.
Alli can say with confidence that her years of experience supporting many families has given her great insight into the needs of new parents as they navigate this new journey in their lives.

The Fourth Trimester
It is believed that Dr Harvey Karp coined the phrase fourth trimester which is a time of both transition and discovery for new parents.
It is also a time of adjustment as your baby discovers their new life outside the womb. The fourth trimester is a time of great emotional and physical change and evidence suggests that getting antenatal education helps with better planning and hopefully smoother transition to parenthood.
